When you step into that massage room, the first thing that will hit you is the massage table, looking all comfy with plump towels ready for you to doze off on if you so desire, and catch the 40 winks you have been craving since the moment you opened your eyes this morning and realised you didn’t even have enough time to make a coffee.

The relaxing music also helps with the atmosphere and the whole room has a chilled out aura. In fact if you really get into the feel of things you could be taking part in a spiritual conference in Botswana, not stood in a converted room of a semi detached house in Stockport.

So what else helps with the atmosphere? Well the smell of the room that you noticed when you first walked in, that isn’t just an air freshener or a wax melt, it is actually essential oils carefully researched and mixed by us to create a relaxing atmosphere for your mind, body and soul and to help you when you may be anxious or stressed.

You may believe that essential oils work, you may not, but if nothing else they smell great (if mixed properly.) They may not be everybody’s bag but they have been used for generations all over the world to naturally prevent and treat a host of ailments.

What are essential oils? Bear with me for the boring explanation, essential oils are the reason we can smell and taste herbs, flowers and spices. They are the aromatic molecules of the plant and they are collected by extracting the oil from the plants flower, roots, stem, leaves or fruit. Long term use of oils can have a fantastic impact on our overall health and state of wellbeing.

Here are a few perfect examples of essential oils and what they do. Lavender is well known for it’s ability to calm and sooth you, Chamomile calms the mind and promotes sleep. And Frankincense, which most of us have only ever heard of through a small child’s production of a nativity play, can be used for stress, anxiety and even depression. (I could do with some of this DURING one of my child’s school plays as I am always anxious they are going to be the one that decides to just wander off stage or shout Mummy at the top of their voice)

We use an oil diffuser because it is a less direct way to get the oils into your system, more subtle and calming. Every month here at ForeverYoung we are going to have an oil blend of the month. Watch out for posts, blogs and Insta and Facebook story’s about the different oils in the blend and their properties! So keep an eye out for us on social media as we learn more about these oils and how we can help our fantastic clients. Because at ForeverYoung we care about our clients and #ForeverYoungWeGotYourBack
